A company rented a machine for Rs.700/- a month. Five years later the ...
Lets assume the price of the machine = x rupee
5 year maintenance charge = 100*60 = 6000
so total investment = x+6000
now total rental charges for five year = 700*60 = 42000
so according to given condition 42000-x-6000 = 2000 so x = 34000

The company have already paid 700 Rs per month for 5yr. That means total Rs paid is=700*(12 months)*(5 yr)=42,000Rs.
Now,
if company purchased it , its only have to pay 100 Rs per month for 1 yr.
That means= 100*(12 months)=1200Rs.
They give condition as, if it pays this he company will save 2000 Rs.
42,000(already paid for 5 yr) + 1200(company have to pay for 1 yr)= 2000(company saves)
42,000+1200-2000=0
42,000-8000=34,000Rs
