    Option 4)

    Correct Option: 4 Best Solution (62)

    Dada Khalandar   8 years AGO

    Let the number of persons be x and the total money be Rs y

    Given when Rs 12 is given to each person he was short of Rs 6

    Hence 12x − y = 6 → (1)

    Also when Rs 9 is given to each person he is left with Rs 9

    Hence y − 9x = 9 → (2)

    Add (1) and (2), we get

    3x = 15 ∴ x = 5

    Number of persons is 5

    Put x = 5 in (1), we get 12(5) − y = 6

    ⇒ y = 60 − 6 = 54

    Hence the money is Rs 54.

    let no. of persons be \'x\'

    then total sum of money,S=12*x-6-----(1)

    and also,S= 9*x+9-----(2)

    on solving both equations,

    we get x(no. of persons)=5

    and total sum of money,S=54

    12X-6=9X+9...

    3X=15..

    X=5..Therefore 5 persons..

    12*5-6=54... so option (4).. Like? Yes (2) | No

    LET, X = TOTAL AMOUNT AND Y = no.OF PERSON

    Y = 12X - 6----(1) Y = 9X + 9----(2)

    SOLVING eq(1) AND eq(2),we get

    Let us say there are X people.

    Let the total amount be Rs.Y

    Man tried to distribute certain amount among cetain number of people and found that he fell short of 6 rs. So if we consider the number of people to be X

    the total amount man has is

    Y=X*12-6--------[1]

    Now man distributed 9 rs among X persons and found that he was left with 9 rs.

    hence the total amount can be calculated as

    Y=X*9+9---------[2]

    equating [1] and [2]

    we have Y=X*12-6=X*9+9

    this gives X=5(no of people)

    and Y= Rs.54 (total amount with the man)

    54rs and 5 persons he left 9rs , and he given each person 9rs so 9*5=45+9 (he left ) =54 and at first he wished to give 12rs but 6rs is less if he give 12rs to five persons 12*5=60 - 6rs less so answer is 54 and 5 persons
