Solution Verified by Toppr
Correct option is A)
Time from 8 a.m on Sunday to 8 p.m on following Sunday = 7 days 12 hours = 180 hours∴ The watch gains (5+5
5 4 ) min or 5 54 min in 180 hrs Now 5 54
min are gained in 180 hrs
∴ 5 min. are gained in (180×
54 5
×5) hrs. = 83 hrs 20 min.
= 3 days 11 hrs 20 min.
∴ Watch is correct 3 days 11 hrs 20 min. after 8 a.m. of Sunday
∴ It will be correct at 20 min past 7 p.m. on Wednesday

In defective clock slow - fast type we use formula
Time = ((S/F)/S + F)) × total time
Note: In numerator we take that value whichever comes first in the question, and total time is the time which clock moves in the question. The following Monday = Monday of the next week (7 days).
Total time = 24 × 7 = 168 hrs + 12 hrs (9 am to 9 pm).
Total time = 180 hours.
Here, 5 minute comes first.
5 minutes 48 seconds = 5 + 48/60 = 5 + 4/5 = 29/5.
Thus, (5/(5 + 29/5)) × 180 = 83 hrs 20 minutes
Thus, after 83 hrs 20 minutes from Monday 9 am, the clock shows the correct time.
I.e. Thursday 8:20 pm.
Hence, correct answer will be Thursday 8:20.
