அதாவது நடிகை மதி (ஆண்ட்ரியா) ஒரு ஷாப்பிங் காம்ப்ளெக்சில்  சூப்பர்வைசராக   பணிபுரிகிறாள். அங்கே சேல்ஸ் கேர்ளாக பணிபுரியும் பெண்ணிற்கு, அவளது காதலனுடன் பிரேக்கப் ஆகிறது. முதலில் காதலித்தவள் பின் அவனது கேரக்டர் சரி இல்லாததால் காதல் வாழ்வை முடிவுக்குக்கொண்டு வர தீர்மானிக்கிறாள்.

ஆனால் காதலன் அவளை விடுவதில்லை. தொடர்ந்து  வந்து  டார்ச்சர்  செய்கிறான். நாயகி அந்தப்பணிப்பெண்ணை டார்ச்சர் செய்யும் அவளது  காதலனை எச்சரித்து அனுப்புகிறாள். இதனால் காதலன் நாயகி மேல் கோபமாக இருக்கிறான்.

இன்னொரு சம்பவம் அந்த காம்ப்ளெக்சில் பணிபுரியும் ஒரு ஆண் தன் நண்பன் உதவியுடன் ஒரு உடையை திட்டம் போட்டு திருடுகிறான். அதைக் கண்டுபிடித்து அவனை பணியில் இருந்து நீக்குகிறார் நாயகி. இதனால் அவனும் அவனது நண்பனும் நாயகி மீது கோபமாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.

அவர்களாக இருக்கும் என்று ஆராய நடிகை முற்படுகிறாள் முன்னதாக பெண்களை தொல்லை கொடுத்த ஆண்கள் குற்றவாளிகளா? என்கிற கோணத்தில், அவர்களில் ஒருவன் கொடைக்கானல் வர அவனை பிடித்து விசாரிக்கின்றனர்.அவர்கள் இல்லை என்பதை ஆண்ட்ரியா புரிந்து கொள்கிறார்.

அந்த கொடுமைக்கு அவரை ஆளாக்கியவர்கள் யார்? மேலே சொன்ன சம்பவங்களில்  புதிதாய் முளைத்த அந்த எதிரிகளா? வேறு நபர்களா? இதற்குப்பின் நாயகியின் வாழ்வில் நடந்த திடுக்கிடும் சம்பவங்கள் என்ன? இதுதான் திரைக்கதை.

திறமையின் தேடல்

நாயகியாக ஆண்ட்ரியா. மனதில் தங்கிவிடும் அருமையான நடிப்பு. பணிபுரியும்  இடத்தில்  கம்பீரமாக நடந்து கொள்வது, பாதிக்கப்பட்ட  பின் அவரது உடல் மொழியில் மாற்றம், அவமானப்படுத்தப்படும்போது  அவரது உள்ளக்குமுறல்கள்  எல்லாவற்றையும் சிறப்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார் .

போலீஸ் சப் இன்ஸ்பெக்டராக அழகம்பெருமாள் மாறுபட்ட நடிப்பை வழங்கி உள்ளார். போலீஸ் ஏட்டய்யாவாக வரும் இளவரசு மிரட்டி இருக்கிறார்.

போலீஸ் இன்ஸ்பெக்டராக வரும் பெண்ணும் வித்தியாசமான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தி உள்ளார்.  நாயகியின் காதலனாக ஆதவ் கண்ணதாசன் பொறுமையான நடிப்பை வழங்கியுள்ளார்.

வெற்றி மாறன் தான் இந்தப்படத்தை தயாரித்து இருக்கிறார்.சந்தோஷ் நாராயணன் இசையில் ஒரு பாடல் மனதில் தங்குகிறது. பின்னணி சையில போதுமான பதட்டத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார்.

Anel Mela Pani Thuli Movie Synopsis: Mathi, who works in a sports outlet, becomes the victim of a horrendous crime committed by men in authority. Can she punish the real criminals despite all odds?Anel Mela Pani Thuli Movie Review: A dark, gritty, and heartbreaking plot is enough for some of us to sit through without any complaint. But then it's the conflicts that the central characters are constantly subjected to that make it an intriguing and engrossing watch. Andrea's Anal Mela Pani Thuli is undoubtedly a bold and intense tale of a rape survivor that talks about authoritative men, the trauma victims undergo, and how society fails to treat them with dignity at every stage.

However, the screenplay turns bleak as the film progresses, and the turn of events in the second half isn't engaging enough.

A few minutes into the film, we are introduced to Mathi (Andrea Jeremiah), an enthusiastic, outspoken girl who works as an operational manager at a popular sports outlet in the city. She is the kind of person who goes to any extent to help her colleagues in trouble and, at the same time, voices out against them if the mistake is on their side. Mathi decides to travel alone all the way to Kolanji, a small village near Kodaikanal, to attend the wedding of her colleague, whom she happened to save from an abusive relationship. Unforeseen incidents put her life in misery as she gets abducted and gangraped near a tourist spot. While police officials in the village arrest a male colleague and another suspect from Chennai who possibly have motives to harm her, Mathi believes that they are in no way related to this horrific crime.

Mathi stands firm and decides to bring out the real culprits, who are disguised as saviours. Can she punish the monsters despite the trauma that she's been put through?

Director Kaiser Anand's intention to tell an honest story of a rape victim and the post-traumatic stress they have been subjected to is laudable. The dialogue in the second half of the film is powerful and destroys societal notions of honour. While all this is great, the big letdown is its screenplay and melodramatic approach to writing. In the entire film, there is only one conflict in the first half that actually pulls us to the edge of our seats. Otherwise, the second half is quite predictable and flat, without giving us any intense moments. If telling an honest story is the maker's only intention, then it's fair enough. But for it to connect to the audience, we need a few more conflict points and depth in the writing.

The technical aspect of the film is average and doesn't help much to elevate the emotions that come along with a genre like this. Andrea is perfect as Mathi. There is a truth to her performance; she carries an intense mood throughout. The scene where she unravels the real culprits is top-notch, and it's something to watch out for. Azhagam Perumal, who plays the Inspector, has done well, particularly in the pre-climax sequences. Aadhav Kannadasan plays Andrea's fiance in the film and he has done justice to the role. Anel Mela Pani Thuli had all the potential to become another Visaranai or a Jai Bhim, but the writer missed out on something that would have taken the film closer to any of these.

The film deserves a one-time watch, though, especially for the director's intention and the dialogues.
