Let us assume that there were 1000 candidates at the start.
Men = 600 Women = 400
Number of men clearing the qualifying test = 600 x 70% = 420
Number of women clearing the qualifying test = 400 x 75% = 300
Successful men in the final test = 420 x 80% = 336
Successful women in the final test = 300 x 70% = 210
Thus, 56% of men and 52.5% of women were successful.
Hence, more men cleared the examination than women.
