## Detailed Solution

Given:

A’s investment = 54000 for 12 months

B’s investment = 72000 for 9 months

C’s investment = 108000 for 3 months

Profit at the end of the year = Rs. 85000

Calculation:

A's share in investment = 54000 × 12

B's share in investment = 72000 × 9

C's share in investment =108000 × 3

⇒ The ratio of  A , B , C  investment = (54000 × 12) : (72000 × 9) : (108000 × 3)

⇒ A : B : C = 2 : 2 : 1

Total investment   = 2 + 2 + 1 = 5

A’s profit share = 85000 × (2/5) = 34000

∴ The profit share of A is Rs. 34000
