Given,Length of the two trains is 150 m and 100 m respectively.
Speed of the two trains is 39 km/hr and 21 km/hr.
Formula:If the speed of the two trains is x km/hr and y km/hr respectively (x > y).
Relative speed, if opposite directions = (x + y) km/hr
Relative speed, if same directions = (x – y) km/hr
Speed = Distance/Time
1 km/hr = 5/18 m/
Calculation:According to the question
Sum of length of the both trains = (150 + 100) = 250 m
⇒ (39 + 21) × 5/18 = 250/Time
⇒ 60 × 5/18 = 250/Time
⇒ 50/3 = 250/Time
⇒ Time = 250 × (3/50)
∴ Time = 15 seconds
